Welcome to Kanalhuset
On the historic island Christianshavn – with its many heritage protected buildings and cobble stoned streets – you will find Kanalhuset along the Christianshavn Canal. With a view over the canal and the tall masts we are located in the middle of Copenhagen; 300 meters from Christianshavn metro station and across the bridge from the Royal Theatre, Nyhavn, Amalienborg Castle and the main shopping street Strøget. The building dates back to 1754 and now contains 12 boutique hotel rooms, large and small meeting rooms, 14 hotel apartments, a bar and a restaurant where we serve the meal of the evening every day at 7pm in Spisestuen.
We are open every day from 7.00 am – 10 pm for breakfast, lunch, coffee, dinner and drinks.

Join us for a refreshing morning swim.
After a dip in the canal, we offer a cup of hot coffee, and together we sing a morning song to warm up.

Meal of the evening
At Kanalhuset we eat together every day at 7 pm in Spisestuen. Our chefs prepare the dinner with seasonal ingredients and an everchanging menu. The meal of the day is served as a social dinner with our neighbors, residents and other curious guests!
We always offer an alternative option for vegetarians if you inform us when you book a table.
We recommend that you show up 6.30 pm and the meal costs 150 DKK per person.

Kanalhuset goes to sea with our musical captain Nikolaj Muldkjær, a stack of songbooks and an acoustic guitar.
Together we sing about songs about Copenhagen, spring, sailors, Langebro, love and a rocking sea.

Croquis
100 DKK
“Croquis” implies sketching, thus we focus on creating unfinished and authentic drawings with a duration between 30 seconds and 10 minutes. Whether you are a beginner or experienced, we all share that we produce unfinished drawings, as it is not realistic to complete a drawing in just 30 seconds or 10 minutes, regardless of one’s skill level. During the croquis drawing, we do not see realism as the primary goal, but instead consider the body as a frame of reference and source of inspiration, which we can freely interpret

Private Dining –
Enjoy dinner with your friends in one of our livingrooms or apartments
Come and dine with your friends in one of our apartments or separate rooms and spend the evening as if you were at home. You will be welcomed at 6pm, unless agreed on something else, where you will be able to settle in. We will come by and serve a 3-course meal on plates for you to share. If you’re dining in an apartment, the refrigerator will be equipped with beer, water, bubbles, and wine which you are welcome to open and enjoy at your own pace.
The price is 500 DKK per person exclusive of beverages (beer, wine, drinks, etc.).
(Minimum booking of 6 persons and a maximum of 22)
