When you stay at Kanalhuset you will live in the middle of Copenhagen on the historic island Christianshavn surrounded by heritage buildings and cobblestone streets. Our 14 hotel apartments are placed around the building, and all contribute to the life and dynamics of our house. We want to give you the opportunity to settle in and create an everyday life while you stay with us and feel at home.

The interior of the apartments is inspired by Danish design from 1930-1970 and are all individually designed and decorated with their own expression and homeliness. The interior design company EEN has decorated all of Kanalhuset – from the furniture to cutlery and paintings. EEN have scoured through auctions, flea markets and private collections to find just the right items to suit the aesthetic of Kanalhuset. The furniture has been individually picked out, reupholstered and treated with care to bring out its natural patina and its contribution to the entirety. Every detail has been considered and nothing comes as a coincidence – it is the intention that the personality comes through in the interior.

Every apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, freezer, microwave oven, dishwasher and kitchen utensils. There’s also a washing machine, dryer, Sonos speaker and a safe. The apartments are designed with an open kitchen, dining room and a connecting lounge area. The bedrooms are separated from the living room and has a walk-in closet. Every apartment is connected to central heating.

Many of the city’s attractions are within walking distance from Kanalhuset such as The Royal Theater, Nyhavn, Amalienborg Castle and the shopping street Strøget, Vor Frelser Kirke (Our Savior’s Church), the Freetown Christiania or stroll around the colorful old houses along the canal. We are just 3 minutes away from Christianshavn Metro station so you can easily get around Copenhagen and there is also a direct connection to Copenhagen Airport (approximately 20 minutes).

Besides offering you place to stay we would also like to introduce you to the neighborhood and would therefore like to recommend you close-by facilities. We have a local grocery store around the corner, a flower shop down the street and lots of areas for your walks (nature sights, historic areas, canal promenades, etc.). It is also possible to take a morning sailing ride in a kayak, rent a bike for adventures around Copenhagen, try out the local gym, visit Sofiebadet for a massage and aromatherapy bath or dine with us for dinner in Spisestuen (the dining room) at 7pm.
